Juvederm is an FDA-approved hyaluronic acid filler that can be used to do everything from add volume back to flat cheeks, soften the look of wrinkles around your nose and mouth, and fill your lips.
Some of the most popular areas for Juvederm injection are the cheeks, temple, and lips, and this is to treat volume loss in the skin when we get older. Juvederm is also used to treat smile lines, wrinkles at the corners of your mouth, and marionette lines.
It’s important to know that there are different types of Juvederm that address the above mentioned skin concerns. In your consultation with Marianne, at the beginning of your appointment, she will let you know which Juvederm product is right for you to best meet your skin goals.
- Juvederm Ultra and Ultra Plus XC: Plumps lips and smooths parentheses lines, it can last up to a year.
- Juvederm Volbella XC: Adds volume to lips and smooths vertical lip lines, is ideal for finer lines around the lips and eyes, and can also be used for under-eye bags.

Treatment Recovery
Injections take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour, depending on the area of your face you’re having treated. While you won’t need anesthesia, a topical anesthetic can be used to make you more comfortable. Once the injection is done, the area will be gently massaged — and then you’re good to go! You may notice redness or swelling, but this should subside shortly. Just keep in mind that you should steer clear of intense workouts, lots of sun exposure, and drinking alcohol for 24 hours post-Juvederm to curb your risk of any issues arising.
Treatment Results
Juvederm results (depending on the specific type) should last anywhere from six months to two years — and you should see the results instantly after injection.
